Marriage Rooms
Gretna Hall, an iconic wedding venue, was originally built as a private manor house in 1710 and later transformed into a charming coaching inn. Over the years, it has hosted countless noble weddings and “well-to-do runaways.” Today, it remains a sought-after destination, offering a luxurious 4-star hotel for your reception and accommodations. The venue also features three beautifully distinct marriage rooms, perfect for weddings of all sizes.
THE COACH HOUSE
Once the original marriage room for the rich and famous, evokes images of runaway couples arriving by horse-drawn carriage. Set behind the iconic marriage anvil, it provides a breathtaking backdrop for your special day. This charming venue accommodates up to 45 seated guests and 25 standing, offering an intimate setting for your wedding.
THE COURTYARD ROOM
The Courtyard is an elegant, contemporary venue nestled within the historic grounds of Gretna Hall. Candlelit to create a perfectly romantic atmosphere, it can accommodate up to 60 seated guests, with an additional 20 standing. Couples exchange vows here, with the traditional marriage anvil at the heart of the venue, adding a timeless touch to the ceremony.
THE COTTAGE
The Cottage is the perfect venue for intimate weddings. Couples exchange vows over the anvil, framed by a stunning floral arrangement around the charming old fireplace. After the ceremony, couples can step into their private garden for memorable photographs. This intimate marriage room accommodates up to 8 guests, offering a personal and unforgettable setting for your special day.
FUNCTION ROOMS
THE DRAWING ROOM
on the first floor of the historic original wing of Gretna Hall, our Drawing Room offers an elegant setting with breathtaking views of the village church and the Solway Firth beyond. Perfect for intimate gatherings, the room accommodates up to 24 guests and will be beautifully arranged with a large oval table, creating a stunning atmosphere for your special day.
THE CRIFFLE SUITE
Located on the ground floor of Gretna Hall, our Criffle Suite features its own bar and offers versatile layout options to suit your needs. With capacity for up to 35 guests, it is an ideal choice for customized wedding packages. For larger celebrations, you can combine the Criffle Suite with the Annandale Room, accommodating up to 75 guests..
THE JOHNSTONE SITE
The Johnstone Suite is the perfect venue for an intimate wedding reception with your closest loved ones. This contemporary function room is named after the original owners of Gretna Hall, dating back to its establishment as a manor house in 1710. With a capacity for up to 20 guests, it offers a charming and personalized setting for your special celebration.
THE ANNANDALE SUITE
The Annandale Suite, a spacious function room on the ground floor of Gretna Hall, is ideal for hosting a wedding breakfast followed by an evening reception with a disco and dance floor. With a capacity for up to 45 guests, it offers a vibrant and flexible space to celebrate your special day in style.
